A Bit About The Boat
Today I decided to add a new page to the website with information about the boat itself.
There have been many tours where one or more of our guests are avid sailors and I spend my time listening to Captain Chris explain the stats and vagaries of The Reliant.
I personally do not find much excitement in stats like water displacement or beam width, but it seems that plenty of people do… SO…
I am going to vagrantly plagiarize from some very informative websites that I discovered.
All credit for the following information and images go to sailboatdata.com and bluewaterboats.org collectively.
The Reliant is a Pearson 35 built way back in the 70’s (as I was). I was surprised to note that even after all this time, and the fact that production of this particular make and model of boat stopped in 1982, it is a well-known and popular boat.
Between 1968 and 1982 over 500 of this particular style of boat was produced .
Here are the Specs, as given by bluewaterboats.org…

These schematics aren’t exactly the same as The Reliant thanks to a few layout modifications within the company over the course of production as well as modifications made by the previous owner….but overall they are quite good.
