Living the dream!

Yesterday was a tour day, and one we had been looking forward to for a while. We were contacted by a lovely gentleman who was intent on providing his amour with a wonderful sailing trip for her birthday.

Chris had decided to get into the spirit of things and ran out to purchase some champagne and strawberries. (something he has never done before)

The day dawned bright and sunny and the breeze was perfect for sailing. Our guests arrived in style and boarded The Reliant with excitement. Since the breeze was stronger than usual in the bay, Captain Chris was able to turn the motor off almost immediately and a hush fell over the boat, along with huge smiles.

Our guests, Carlos and Andrea had never been sailing before. They immediately fell in love with the quiet, the warm breeze and the Pura Vida spirit that lives on board a sailboat under sail.

Yup… we’ve created monsters! It’s always a great feeling when you get to introduce people to the Joy of Sailing, and if it turns into a lifelong passion…even better.

I think that might be the case with our new friends.

Chris set about teaching Andrea the basics of sailing and she took the helm with a big smile as The Reliant made it’s way over to FantaSea Beach for a couple of hours of Swimming and Paddleboarding.

Carlos and Andrea had so much fun in fact, that we almost didn’t make it back before dark…but it was completely worth it to see the happiness on their faces.

If I’m not mistaken, we may have just made new friends for life…and will be giving some sailing lessons in the near future.

I have said it before and I will say it again… we are living the dream!
